Cumberland County Government is announcing the limited re-opening of some public-facing offices in the middle of June. The Registry of Deeds will reopen with some restrictions on June 15. The Register of Probate will reopen with some restrictions on June 16. More details below.
REGISTRY OF DEEDS
Starting Monday, June 15th, the Registry of Deeds will resume limited in-person service by Appointment Only. No more than two interested parties will be allowed in the office for research per two-hour time block. No more than two interested parties will be allowed at the recording window. In-person visits will be first come, first serve from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm M-F. Masks are required to enter the office. Please call 871-8389 to schedule an in-person visit. Please note that the Registry of Deeds continues to provide service via telephone, mail and electronic filing.
REGISTER OF PROBATE
Starting Tuesday, June 16th, the Probate Office will resume limited in-person service by Appointment Only. No more than one interested party will be allowed in the office during each appointment period. No more than two separate matters will be scheduled per block of time. In-person visits will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appointments will be limited to two appointments at a time. Masks are required to enter the office. Please call 871-8382 to schedule an in-person visit. Please note that the Probate office continues to provide assistance via telephone, mail and electronic contact during our normal business hours, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
