Regional Assessing

Beginning in 2014 Cumberland County has spearheaded a new and inspirational idea within the New England area in the form of a regional assessing program.  The discussions and planning for this program began and progressed within the ten years previous to its initiation. This regionalization program brings the assessing functions of several municipalities under one roof.

The Program:

Our staff are employed by Cumberland County to provide professional, high quality real and personal property assessing services within the municipalities we are contracted to serve in accordance with Maine State law (MRSA, Title 36).

Scheduled office hours are held by our assessors at each participating town office throughout the year. Town employed assessing assistants are also available to assist the public with questions and application forms on a daily basis.

In addition, we are always willing to set appointments to meet with taxpayers upon request.

Office Location:

For the public's convenience we are located with the Registry of Deeds at:

25 Pearl Street, Portland, Maine  04101      VIEW MAP

Our Staff:

Our assessors are highly trained professionals certified by the State of Maine and members of the International Association of Assessing Officers.  They regularly attend additional educational courses in the pursuit of providing a high quality and professional service to both the Town officials and the taxpayers alike.

Photos of our staff have been provided below to help identify them to the public while they are performing field inspections within the municipalities.
